You can find your local post office, office holders, schools by rank, and even generate a crime map of your local neighborhood by following those links.
Swing by your local Starbucks and check their board for local events. You should be open to meeting new people at places like local supermarkets, libraries, city hall, and other places. People by nature a highly resourceful, so ask around. You may be surprised.
